Daddy's Home/ Daddy's Home 2 Double Review!

Daddy's Home

Daddy's Home is a charming delight starring Will Ferell. The movie starts off with the kids not liking their step-dad but then they end up loving there step-dad. Minutes later their regular dad, Dusty calls and that kicks off the movie and then Dusty comes and all hell breaks loose when Dusty calls a Dad vs Step-Dad competition. Then, Dusty shows why no one should mess with the baby daddy.
No, Will Ferell does not step out of his what I call 'soft dad zone' as it states in the title of this movie but this movie broke so many laughs from me. They go from slapstick humor to raunchy humor but it all goes into a very good movie.
Mark Wahlberg did amazing as the tough dad who causes a lot of the humor in the film and causes half of the crazy stuff that happens in the movie. He was funny when he did that '103.6 the panda' jingle. He did that humor in Daddy's Home 2 at the end where he sang like he really has worked on his singing skills or put a voice on speakers and lip-synced it.
My favorite part was probably when the step-dad, Brad bought tickets to the Los Angeles Lakers game that night. Then, the family except for Brad went up to the front row because Dusty knew the coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. Then, Brad's wife finds out that he blew $1,800 on each seat for the game so she told him to sit down in his 18 hundred dollar seat. Then, Brad got drunk and was the winner of the person who went up and could have won a Disney World trip. But, then again he was drunk so he made a raunchy joke and then took the basketball at one of the cheerleaders and one of the kids with a disability.
My least favorite part was.... I can't think of one.
Overall, this movie gets an A.

Daddy's Home 2

Okay, I saw this movie from 1:50-3:40 so it's 1 hour and 50 minutes. That's 16 more minutes added on from the first one, Sean Anders! It wasn't earning up to the first one but it got some 15-second laughs out of me. (Longest laugh for a movie, sometimes I act drunk and laugh for 30 seconds for no reason.) So pretty much the same as the first one the family starts loving each other. Then, someone calls which is Kurt played by Mel Gibson. Later, Brad invites his father Jonah and they bond by renting a cabin.
Mel Gibson was hilarious, I just loved the jokes he made in this. He only made raunchy ones like the cut-off 'two washed up hookers' joke. Every probably 40-something people in the theater laughed. Then, for the next 90 minutes, he had either cut-off or full raunchy jokes. Mark Wahlberg did amazing too. Why am I adding Mark Wahlberg? The Mayron family consists of Dusty played by Mark Wahlberg and Kurt played by Mel Gibson.
Then, the Whitakers were great companions. Ferell took all the jokes here though such as the 'snowball fight' slapstick fight. Ferell did okay but not as good as the first movie, he gets a B. Lithgow's acting was astonishing though, John Lithgow gets an A.
I didn't like this movie as much, but it still was a pretty good movie. It gets a B-.
